Audrey Elizabeth Broussard and Dr. Jonathan William Thompson were joined in marriage Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Saint Stephen Catholic Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Reverend Father Gerard LaPorte officiated at the evening ceremony.
Audrey Elizabeth Broussard is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Rainer Broussard III, of Lafayette. Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Paula Adams Broussard of Lafayette and the late Mr. Guy Rainer Broussard II of Abbeville, Louisiana, and Mrs. Audrey Verrett Cole and the late Mr. William Van Cole of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She is a 2006 graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School and a 2010 graduate of Louisiana State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. She also earned a double minor in Psychology and Business Administration and was active in Kappa Delta sorority.
Jonathan William Thompson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wayne Thompson of Junction City, Louisiana. Grandparents of the groom are Mrs. Ola Ryals Thompson and the late Mr. John Smith Thompson of Junction City, Louisiana, and Mr. and Mrs. James Leonard Patterson of Calion, Arkansas. He is a 2002 graduate of Junction City High School and a 2006 graduate of Louisiana Tech University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. He has recently received a Doctorate of Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. After a preliminary year of Internal Medicine training in Baton Rouge, he will begin his four-year residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant fit-to-flare trumpet gown of ivory silk taffeta. The strapless silhouette featured a modified sweetheart neckline, tea-length bridesmaid dresses graceful ruche bodice with delicate flower detail, and asymmetric hem, which swept into a full chapel length train. To complete her look, the bride chose a cathedral length veil of Italian silk tulle trimmed in ivory satin ribbon.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans.
After returning from a honeymoon trip to St. Thomas, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge for one year before moving to Birmingham, Alabama.
