I wanted something elegant enough to match my dress but also something I could invest in that would be a staple in my wardrobe for years! 1 of the shortlisted pairs are a patent nude court shoe from Next and the other is a satin sling back from Barratts. Not exactly what I had in mind but I guess if this is where I have to compromise I will have to deal with it! Who knows maybe I will find my glass slippers and Cinderella will go to the ball. If anyone can recommend and dinky shoe specialists let me know, I still have a few weeks left to return the high street back ups!

Something that has been stressing me out for the last two months is the wedding stationery. I started working on it in March. It’s been a long hard slog. I had one or two arguments with my printer regarding, the wedding dress sale the wedding dress sale paper jams, etc but I think we now have a mutual respect for one another. I have admired the work of Rob Ryan for a while now. JP bought me one of his artworks for my birthday, and it’s the best present I’ve ever had. I absolutely love the cutworks that he produces and decided I wanted the same look for the wedding stationery.

I scoured the Internet for companies that laser cut paper and found quite a few. I created my artwork and emailed it to various companies for quotations. I was very shocked at some of the quotes I received; there were enormous differences, as much as £500 between the cheapest and the most expensive quotes. If you’re planning on designing your own stationery I would defiantly recommend you get as many quotes as you can. I think in my case it was the classic double the price as it’s for a wedding situation! In the end I decided to choose the services of Geekiness, a guy I found on Etsy. He was London based so postage would be quick and easy and he was able to do the job in the time frame I needed. I had bought ready cut card blanks from Craft Creations, ball gowns cocktail dresses as I could not face faffing about cutting and folding cards, and sent them to Geekiness.

When I received the samples I was blown away, they looked better than I could have ever imagined! I think this is the first time in my whole wedding planning experience, my expectations have been exceeded. I want to say thanks to one of my good friends Laura who helped me with the cutting and double sided sticking of all the inserts which went into the invites. She was a godsend and I couldn’t have done it without her, just hope she’s up for round 2, beautiful lace wedding dresses beautiful lace wedding dresses for the order of service cards!

I’m really excited as this weekend I’m off to Glasgow with some of my buds to enjoy my hen weekend. My MOH has organised it all and I have no idea what to expect! Everyone keeps telling me what a great job she has done, so I can’t wait. I feel really touched that she has put so much effort into this weekend, especially since she is trying to organise her own wedding in September. Hopefully I will be able to share it all with you in my last post!
